Fernie Brewing Company is Fernie’s only microbrewery and has been operating in Fernie since the fall of 2002. Owned and operated by local residents, Fernie Brewing Co.’s brand represents the high quality nature of its beer and complements the Fernie image – that of a true Canadian Rockies mountain town.

The Challenge
Fernie Brewing Company decided to offer two of its most popular beer in cans to ensure the freshest delivery in an attractive medium. In order to effectively move to cans, Fernie Brewery needed to create a strong label/design to ensure strong brand recognition of its products.

The Solution
Having already developed the branding, new logos for both the company and its products, Savage Marketing had a vast understanding of Fernie Brewing Company and what it represents. Savage Marketing provided a package design and copy for the Griz Pale Ale and First Trax beer cans that reflected the high quality nature of the beer and also is strongly identified as “Fernie.” Response to the cans has been very positive. Locals and tourists alike can be found with a Fernie beer can in their hand, as can beer drinkers throughout Alberta and British Columbia.
